Wins for 2017 Build Momentum for 2018
Ah! That peaceful week between Hanukkah, Christmas and New Year’s, when you can take a minute to catch your breath, reflect on what you’ve accomplished, and build up your motivation to tackle your new goals!
2017 was an astounding year, and we hope it was for you, too – for all the right reasons! Thinking about all the things you’ve done in 2017 – including lessons learned from things that didn’t turn out the way you intended – can be one of the most motivating ways to get ready for 2018! It’s how you use your wins for 2017 to build momentum for 2018. That’s certainly true for our team.
Before the RTS Labs team took a few days to celebrate the holiday season with family and friends, we took a little time to reflect on some of the amazing things we were able to do for clients and for the community this year. From memories to accomplishments to exciting new technology, here are some of our favorite moments from 2017.
Circles of Success event
We hosted a Richmond Users Group Meetup and a Salesforce Circles of Success combined event that included a live Trailhead session (the first of its kind to be held in Richmond). We completed trails, earned badges together, and shared successes and frustrations. The attendance was great, the energy was great, and everyone took new knowledge and skills home with them! To find out more about what the actual event was like, check out our write-up about the Circles of Success day.
Accolades
This year, we were excited to be featured in the Richmond Times-Dispatch AND in Tech.co for our work and commitment to the business and tech communities in Richmond.
From Richmond Times-Dispatch: Henrico-based RTS Labs specializes in software application development
From Tech.co: Why Richmond Virginia Is Attracting Startups to Local Accelerators
We were also finalists for the HYPE YP Workplace Small Business & Large Business Award, an award that recognizes Greater Richmond Region businesses that excel in attracting, retaining and developing young employees.
Giving back to the community
Giving back is an important part of our culture at RTS Labs. This year, we joined the tech community to help raise $20,000 for CodeVA, a local non-profit organization that partners with schools, parents, and students to bring equitable computer science education to all students, young and old, throughout Virginia. We also sponsored Mercy Mall United, a fun event to raise funds for Mercy Mall, which collects new and gently used household goods to provide support and comfort to families in need. RTS Labs also enjoyed highlighting all the amazing agriculture, food, and beverages (including Virginia wine, of course) that Virginia has to offer as a sponsor of Taste of Virginia.
Exciting things in tech
On the technology front, artificial intelligence (AI) became more accessible for businesses with Salesforce Einstein. We were also excited to see augmented reality take a bigger step forward with some really innovative real-world applications. In addition to new tech, we saw the healthcare industry embrace big data a little more – something the industry desperately needs. And, a new niche in medicine was born. According to Marketplace that niche, called home health monitoring, will become a $100 billion industry in the next five years.
2017 was a great year! We can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store. Speaking of 2018, stay tuned to our blog for our CEO Jyot Singh’s yearly tech predictions.
