2 Simple Tips to Take Your Salesforce CRM to the Next Level
You could spend hours and hours getting sucked into the many articles on the Internet about Salesforce. As a CRM platform, its capacity for customization and integration with existing systems means there’s a lot to write about. The large communities of Salesforce users who have come together to support each other mean there are lots of people looking for content, creating content, and having conversations about the best ways to use Salesforce. Now there’s a treasure trove of tips, tricks, and “hacks” on all kinds of topics related to Salesforce across the Internet.
That being said, there are 2 simple tips that will help you take your Salesforce CRM to the next level. These 2 tips are key. We see them in most of the Salesforce client work we do here at RTS Labs.

So what are these amazing yet simple tricks?
1. Get a Developer Org
Salesforce Developer Org is a free version of Force.com that allows anyone to play around with development in Salesforce. It’s an excellent way to learn Salesforce, use it for training, or develop new apps. The amazing thing about it is that anyone can get one for FREE!
Even if you have a sandbox with your edition of Salesforce, it’s important that you get your own version of Salesforce to play around with. This way if you change jobs, all of the work you’ve put into your org is not lost.
According to Adam, “It’s the place for you to test new things and explore new features. Sure, your company may have a sandbox, but what if your company is using Professional Edition or you want to try out Communities or Service Console? You are not edition locked in a Developer Edition, and that’s a huge bonus.”
2. Get involved in the community
If you really want to get the most out of Salesforce, join one of the many Salesforce communities. Salesforce has a flourishing group of users from around the world who contribute regularly and are always willing to offer advice. There’s always something to learn within the communities from people who have been using Salesforce for years or who are trying to learn the same thing as you.
There’s also more than one way to connect with the community. You can become active in the Success community, Stack Exchange, or on Twitter (#askforce). You can learn from Salesforce blog posts and webinars, or you can find local user groups and meet people in person.
“The community ecosystem Salesforce users have built is second to none. The benefits of connecting with other users, developers, professionals and like-minded people is a no brainer,” says Adam.
If you follow these two tips, you will learn more about Salesforce than you ever would from reading blog posts alone. You’ll also find yourself connected to some great people who will help you work on mastering the intricacies of Salesforce.
